I put these together because I've done multiple versions of them over the years. I completed my first aide training last year (again, renewals, you know?) and as a teacher, I'm often put on field trips, but also, I'm a clutz, so I end up giving myself first aide a lot. I have wrapped comfrey leaves around sprains, sewn a leg closed (Burningman, what are you going to do), even administered emergency overdose charcoal (Burningman, again, sigh). I also broke my ankle in Switzerland and managed a French Emergency Room visit, then continued on my trip in a walking cast.

I love camping. Love, love, love it! My car has a two-week kit always stocked in the back including a very robust first aide (see above), food, shelter, and clothing. One of my last multi-day trips we did geocaching, reading by the river, fishing, and hammock walking.

This sort of goes together with the above. All of my trips are 'survival' trips. I make jerky for my trips and dry fruits/veg for cooking. I spent 10 days on an island in the north Atlantic (part of the Netherlands) sleeping in a tent and working on a farm with my Master's class. We learned to identify wild foods, milk cows, and make homemade pizza.

Huh, I don't seem to have a photo of me doing river surveys in Scotland. I do help run our high school's beach clean-up each year, and we take student's to that, so there's that I suppose. Last year we got almost 400lbs off the beach.
